Cornell Davitt's hidden treasure trove of 4-track recordings was the rich starting point for Ruby's Caution Horse - a band that has grown and evolved along with the songs that they have created. Inspired by a chance meeting in aisle 5 of the local supermarket, Tim Williams joined Cornell and the two began to flesh out the tunes on a couple of acoustic guitars. Luke McCarthy later joined in on drums, as did Nyk Lee on bass and keys. After Nyk moved back to the big smoke, the current lineup was finalised with Steve Matulic stepping in on bass guitar and Ben McCoy on keys.

So what is the result of all this? A solid little set of lo-fi, alt. country songs -  sometimes not so country and sometimes not so lo-fi!  For a while the band prided itself on playing live once a year but recent demand has had them gigging on a more regular basis. Gigs to date have included the Semi-Arid Live Music Night as well as supporting the Relay For Life and the grand opening of the Hattah Desert Rally.
